In 2020, Marsden Jazz Festival, an internationally renowned musical festival held in my home village, was cancelled because of Covid-19. Rather than do nothing, the organisers decided to create an online festival and commissioned several musicians to perform in moorland locations around the village over summer and autumn. I was commissioned to video those performances with pretty much total creative control. Using four cameras, I was able to create the entire visual aesthetic for the festival, attempting to capture the interplay between the individual musicians and the stunning landscape.
